An Uplifting and Cheerful Album from Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
In the minds and ears of many, the music of Yeah Yeah Yeahs may be uplifting and cheerful enough given their upbeat tunes and fun lyrics. Of course, some are just crazy and utter nonsense, and that’s what probably sets them apart from other bands out there. But despite that fact, vocalist of the band Karen O promises that the new album will be uplifting and cheerful. You don’t say? Aren’t they already in that field? Well apparently, she went through an identity crisis in making their next album. How’s that even possible?
Fans have been on the edge of their seats anxiously waiting for what has been going on inside Karen O’s head. It can’t be helped, though. The band from New York is best at rousing up the crowd and bringing down the house as the party goes on in the live house. Well, if it’s getting too difficult for you to wait for the band’s new songs, you can try to play their old songs over and over again. “Art Star” and “Date With the Night” are good mood setters for parties, but you just can’t listen to them in an endless loop. So how about a game of poker to kill the time?

According to NME, Yeah Yeah Yeahs will release their album entitled Mosquito this April 15. The album art seems pretty controversial. It’s a picture of a baby that’s about to get stung by a long, humongous mouthpart of a mosquito. How’s that for an album cover? Karen O revealed that during the dark times the band members are going through, music became their escape. It’s a common thing for people to find something that they can resort to, and it even made them return to their lo-fi roots.
The new album is set to be all weird, mostly about alien invasion. Plus the title track “Mosquito” is literally about mosquitoes. Karen O said she hated them, and it’s pretty passionate. Mix that with Karen O’s violent and chaotic voice, we may just be in with a fun, out of this world surprise for songs.
